Level of compliance

Fontane Gastro GmbH strives to make its website accessible in line with the German Accessibility Act (BFSG). The basis is the requirements of EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.1 at level AA.

• Body text, headings and controls with contrasts of at least 4.5:1 on light and dark backgrounds
• Full keyboard operation, visible focus, skip link to the content
• One top-level heading per page, complete hierarchy, landmarks
• Alternative texts for content images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology
• Motion and videos respect the system setting “reduce motion”
• No zoom lock, text can be enlarged to 200 percent
• Forms with labels and understandable error messages

Known limitations

• Booking takes place on the external platform Mews. Mews Systems is responsible for its accessibility; if you have difficulties, book by phone on 033363 523 90.
• Videos have no sound and no subtitles, as they convey no information that is not also in the text.
• The map is not embedded but offered as a link to Google Maps.
• Small labels, intermediate lines and text links in the house colour gold reach a contrast of 3.1:1 on white and thus not the 4.5:1 required for text (WCAG 1.4.3). This is a deliberate decision in favour of the brand. All these elements are additionally recognisable by capitals, letter spacing or a rule, and no information is conveyed by this colour alone. If you need higher contrast, you can use the site in your operating system’s contrast mode or with browser extensions; we are reviewing a higher-contrast variant.
